Nestled at the end of a private Lane is a very special seaside House. Awarded in the 2022 Sussex Heritage Awards, this contemporary family home was converted from the original 1964 yellow brick felt roofed bungalow – and is a truly stunning conversion.
All the original floors were excavated and reduced down in level, walls removed, extensions added and first floor built to provide 265m2 of residential splendour.
There also a Sedum blanket covering the roof adding to the Eco credentials and providing rainwater attenuation as well as, some much needed additional habitat for insects and bees.
With more than a nod to sustainability this house features externally insulated rendered walls, an MVHR system, a Solar array and Tesla Powerwall – making it more than self-powered on those more frequently bright days, than you’d imagine!
