Daily Telegraph - Home of the Future
A replacement dwelling for private clients with a tilt towards sustainability, that won the coveted Home of the Future 2022 in The Daily Telegraph Housebuilder Awards.
After demolishing the rather tired and outdated 1960’s house we elected to construct the foundations and ground floor slab using our specialist sub-contractors, combining piling and suspended ground slab in one operation for speed and convenience. We fabricated and erected a steel frame and utilised the Met-sec system for the roof joists. In a few short weeks, we were ready progress the roof and start the timber infill, on site – saving time and allowing works inside the building to start earlier in the programme.
Proximity to the sea, meant that we used a specially coated product from VMzinc for the roof and cladding panels. We sourced invisible fixings and machined and finished the Accoya cladding to give a seamless and elegant look to the facades, all sitting above the stunning Linea brick imported from Holland.
Eco credentials run deep with rainwater harvesting, three 120m deep boreholes for the GSHP, 14kw of solar array with Tesla Powerwall, triple glazing and MVHR system, all working together to future proof the building.
Internally, the house has a bespoke kitchen, tiled bathrooms, galleried spaces, frameless internal doors, shadow gaps, feature walls and staircase and entertainment and control system operated via the Control 4 Home Automation.
Externally, we provided hard and soft landscaping to finish off a truly stunning addition to the area.
Using our expert care and attention to detail, we can help build your Dream, into… a Reality.
